Our Focus

The Harley Langdale, Jr. Foundation

was formed in 1958 exclusively for charitable, educational, scientific or religious purposes.  The Foundation seeks to enhance our community and to promote the entrepreneurial spirit that Harley Langdale, Jr. exhibited throughout his life.  Our focus is the support of education programs, health care initiatives, faith based activities, youth programs and other initiatives to foster community improvement primarily in Georgia.

Mission

The mission of the Harley Langdale, Jr. Foundation is to provide support for education, health, research and service to Valdosta, surrounding communities and Georgia or other areas deemed appropriate that will empower organizations, individuals, and families to improve their quality of life and improve the health of our forests. The Foundation also seeks to support programs that promote the entrepreneurial spirit which Mr. Harley Langdale, Jr. exhibited throughout his life.

Funding Priorities

To provide support for education, health, research and service to Valdosta, surrounding communities and Georgia or other areas deemed appropriate that will empower organizations, individuals, and families to improve their quality of life and improve the health of our forests.

Education

Including initiatives to support primary and secondary education.  

Health

Focusing on improving health and well being for the South Georgia area. 

Research

Supporting innovation and stewardship in Forestry, Agricultural and Natural Resources industries.  

Service

Enhancing quality of life of all ages from children through senior adults by supporting agencies at the forefront of human services.

When are grant applications accepted?

Grant applications are accepted year-round. Priority is given to agencies in the South Georgia region, but the Foundation does consider grant requests from outside our region from time to time.

What types of funding are available?

The Harley Langdale, Jr. Foundation awards annual grants, multi-year pledges and matching grant opportunities.
